Awareness

Many people have never heard of BRCA+ until it affects them or someone they love. We want to change that.

At BRCare Connect CIC, we raise awareness of hereditary cancer risk through community events, talks, workshops, awareness campaigns and conversations that make BRCA+ easier to understand. Our aim is to help people recognise when inherited cancer risk might be relevant to them or their family and encourage them to seek trusted information and appropriate medical advice.

We also work alongside healthcare professionals, community groups and other organisations to help start conversations, challenge misconceptions and make information about BRCA+ more accessible. Because the more people understand, the more opportunities there are for earlier conversations, informed choices and, ultimately, saving lives.

Connection

A BRCA+ journey can feel incredibly lonely, especially if you don't know anyone else who's been through it. That's why creating opportunities for connection sits at the heart of everything we do.

Whether it's through our BRCafè meet ups, community events or online community, we bring people together in a welcoming, relaxed environment where conversations happen naturally. Sometimes people come with lots of questions, sometimes they simply want to listen, and sometimes it's enough just to be in a room with others who understand without needing an explanation.

There is no pressure and no expectation. Just a community of people who understand that every BRCA+ journey is different, and that nobody should have to face it alone.

Support

Support doesn't always mean having the answers. Sometimes it means having someone who will listen, help you untangle your thoughts, or simply remind you that you don't have to face things on your own.

At BRCare Connect CIC, we offer a welcoming space where people affected by BRCA+ can connect with others who understand. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed after a diagnosis, waiting for test results, supporting a loved one or adjusting to life after surgery, we're here to walk alongside you.

We can't make the decisions for you, but we can help you feel less alone as you make them.

Resources

Finding reliable information can be one of the hardest parts of a BRCA+ journey. There's so much online that it's not always easy to know what's accurate, what's relevant or where to start.

That's why we're building a collection of trusted resources to help people find clear, practical information in one place. From explaining BRCA+ in plain English and answering common questions, to signposting trusted organisations and useful tools, our aim is to make information easier to understand and less overwhelming.

As BRCare Connect CIC continues to grow, so will our library of resources. We'll keep adding new information, guides and signposts to help support people at every stage of their BRCA+ journey.

Events

Our events are all about bringing people together, raising awareness and creating opportunities to learn in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

From BRCafè meet ups and awareness events to guest speakers, workshops and community activities, every event is designed to help people feel more informed, more connected and more confident to ask questions. Some events focus on sharing practical information, while others simply provide a chance to meet people who understand what it's like to live with BRCA+.

Whether you're attending for the first time or you're a familiar face, you'll always be welcomed with kindness, understanding and, quite often, a good brew and a chat.

Everything BRCA+ in one place

One of my long-term goals for BRCare Connect CIC is to create a place where anyone affected by BRCA+ can find the information, support and connections they need, all in one place.

We're building a growing hub of trusted resources, practical guides, useful links, events and community connections, making it easier to find reliable information without having to search across lots of different websites.

We're not there just yet, and that's okay. BRCare Connect CIC is growing all the time, and so is this website.
